Call for Participation into the 1st Cultural Volunteer Fundraising Event (CVFE) July 2nd 2011

The 1st Cultural Volunteer Fundraising Event (CVFE) of AINU will be held on July 2nd, 2011. This is a very good chance for the foreign volunteers to bring into play your fabulous gift and talent; a free stage to let your knowledge of volunteering shown. So here we warmly welcome every volunteer to come together for this gala.

The theme of this event will be “Volunteer to make a difference in the world” around which you could display your ideas and views about your cultures in volunteering through various forms of performance characterized by international cultural elements like singing, dancing, poem elocution, costume show, opera, drama, cross talk, etc. In addition, the volunteers can also create shows peculiar to their own country and culture. All the performances will be assessed in results of grades and the participants will be given awards and prizes. If you love trying different food, listening to ethnic music and meeting people from other cultures then the 1st Cultural Volunteer Festival is just the event for you.

A feast for the senses, you can "walk the world in a day", enjoying the people, music, dance, arts, crafts, displays and so much more from over 50 nations in just 16 hours!

The event will be a fundraising for the needy children we support and a celebration of volunteers cultural contribution to different communities of the world and diversity of cultures and a great opportunity for volunteers to have a sense of place, feel connected and have a sense of belonging, while they display with pride the cultural variety they bring to the communities they volunteer in.

This event will showcase a variety of cultural performances plus dinner while you sample the wonderful array of traditional food on offer including, African, Asian, Indian, European and American. Volunteers will get letters of recommendation to our partners around the world to go and offer services in their communities; they will also get certificates of Participation in the event.

You can browse through the many ethnic arts and craft stalls, experience the cultural energy in the Youth and Performing Arts Arena and enjoy watching the skills and adrenalin displayed in the 7-aside Ethnic Soccer Cup Tournament. On the day, you will find many of the performers and stallholders are needy people who are happy to share their stories and various aspects of their culture with other volunteers.
